Y9 Born Stallion 16.3 Hands High Retired Grade Five Barn Name: Spirit RACE RECORD || 5-1-1-0 CONSISTENCY || 40% DIRT || Okay TURF || Great DISTANCE || 7-10 Furlongs LEG TYPE || Variable (Front Runner/Preceder) |
PersonalitySpirit is a calm colt with a gentle heart. He has no anger in his heart which is why his name was given. He is a big baby when it comes to being fed carrots. On the track, he can have a competitors streak and when looking another in the eyes tells him he can run faster. Spirit is also the most quiet of our barn and sometimes it takes awhile to find him when at night time. While racing, he is willed to win and runs to his fastest speed showing that his competitors are in for a surprise close to the end. He is great with his Jockey and other people and loves attention. As one of the first colts he has shown improvement with his aspiring attitude and could seemingly be the leader of the herd.
He has gotten to become a strong willed horse and is now showing he is not afraid to show his competitors who they are dealing with. He can be a bit on the wild side now a days. Spirit arrived at Nature Blue stables a year after the stables opened and started his racing career in his 3 year old season. He was unable to race his first few years because he was untrained. The colt seems very skinny but, he is being fed his normal feeding regularly and the staff just doesn't know why the colt stays the shape he does. He is truly some of the staffs favorite. Unfortunately, he retired in the beginning of his fourth year due to a small knee fracture due to a chipped bone. Which is completely healed now but, the staff didn't want to risk a break so Nature Blue Stables retired him. |
Spirit starts out inside the pack, he doesn't want to speed off right away so it confuses his competitors. In mid track he precedes onto another horse matching his speed until getting his confidence up and then just at the last second books it with everything he has. Spirit gallops to his full advantage leaving the others in dirt. When the back stretch comes around Spirit however, will book it towards the lead wanting to be up front away from the others but, he has a knack on staying on the outside. While the last turn can be tricky Spirit uses that as his advantage and switches to a whole new gear racing against the leader to fight for first place. He does have a habit of sneaking up at the last minute but, that is just how the colt prefers it. |

Spirit of Joy was retired from racing early due to a knee injury. He would have built great potential over the turf track if he succeeded. This stallion is the most sweetest guy in the stallion shed and enjoys just making everyone around him happy. He will shine at being a turf miler stallion for the proper mare offered to him.
